THE PRINT MENU OPTION
This is probably the most
useful of STOCK ANALYZER'S options.
As its name suggests, PRINT MENU is a
sub-menu that has options to
1. Print All
2. Print Selective
3. List
4. Graph
as well as options to return to the
MAIN MENU or to QUIT the program. Of
course you must have a printer hooked
up to use these options as they do
not print to the screen.
The PRINT ALL option will print out
a listing of all the stocks listed in
the market you are working in. This
print out will show the stock name
and symbol, all of the values on
record for that stock, and its
high/low value. Once the printing is
complete, you are returned to the
MAIN MENU.
The PRINT SELECTIVE prints the
same information that the PRINT ALL
option does, except that it focuses
on one stock at a time.
The LIST option prints an
alphabetical listing of all stocks in
the market that you are dealing with.
This option prints the stock name and
symbol, the number of individual
records on file, and the date of the
last update.
The GRAPH option graphs a
particular stock's performance. To
create a graph, enter the stock name
or symbols as you have done in other
options.
The resulting graph will have the
highest stock value marked at the top
of the page, the lowest at the
bottom. After the graph is
completed, you have the option of
printing another stock's entries or
returning to the MAIN MENU.
THE QUIT OPTION
The quit option off of the MAIN
MENU , of course, quits the program.
If no changes have been made in the
database, you will exit the program
automatically. If you have, however,
made changes in the database, you
will be asked if you want the changes
recorded or not.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
STOCK ANALYZER has three handy
options that will work when you are
in the MAIN MENU or the PRINT MENU.
AUTO-INPUT
Pressing the CONTROL key while
pressing "A" while you are in the
MAIN MENU will let you enter updates
without keying in the stock name.
When you press CONTROL-A, all stocks
on file are displayed in alphabetical
order, one at a time. The cursor
automatically rests under the LAST
value label.
If you have nothing to add,
pressing RETURN will send you to the
next record. When you wish to exit
the AUTO-INPUT mode, pressing
RUN-STOP when you are prompted to
(R)eturn or go to the (N)ext stock
will get you out of this mode.
WORKSHEET PRINT
CONTROL-W will print out an
alphabetical worksheet you can use to
fill out your stock quotes on paper
before you enter them into the
computer. This option works well in
conjunction with the auto-entry
option.
BACKUP
CONTROL-B will make a backup of any
of the four markets you are working on
onto a pre-formatted disk. When you
press CONTROL-B, you will see a screen
showing the market about to be copied
and a prompt to change disks and to
press RETURN.
If you do not wish to continue with
the backup, pressing the RUN/STOP
will return you to the MAIN MENU.
Notice that any backup disk you use
must be pre-formatted-- the market
files must be created before you can
proceed. To format a disk, press
CONTROL-I. This begins an initialize
sub-program. The program will then
ask you to press the "\" key to begin
initializing the disk. Pressing any
other key at this juncture will
cancel this option.
************************************
WARNING: This sub-program should be
run only once per data disk and will
destroy previously saved market
records.
**************************************
ERROR MESSAGES:
FILE ERROR-- an attempt was made to
load one of the market files onto an
non-initialized disk.
ACTION-- Perform the initialize disk
routine described previously.
*************************************
FILE EMPTY ERROR-- This error
message is displayed when you try to
delete the last record on file for

symbol you entered was not found.
ACTION-- Enter different name.
